Requires a minimum of five years of experience preparing and prosecuting patent applications in the biotechnology field.
Substantial experience drafting patent applications for in vitro diagnostic assays is essential.
Familiarity with immunoassays, CRISPR-based assays, nucleic acid sequencing and quantification, and related probes, kits, and reagents is required. Experience with computational biology is a plus.
Candidates should hold an M.S. or Ph.D. in molecular biology or a closely related discipline. Alternatively, a B.S. in a relevant field combined with at least five years of post-graduate laboratory or industry experience will be considered.
Patent Agents must have active U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) registration. Patent Attorneys require active bar admission in California or New York (depending on office location) in addition to USPTO registration.
Required skills include familiarity with patent databases and search tools, experience managing patent portfolios, and the ability to collaborate effectively.
The base salary range for this position is $200,000 to $300,000 per year, with the final offer dependent on factors such as relevant experience, education, and qualifications.
A comprehensive bonus program is offered, which may include discretionary incentives for productivity, business development, and merit.
