Overview

  • Serve as a Practice Innovation Attorney, a key member of the Practice Innovation Team at a large law firm, focused on improving legal service delivery and internal firm processes.
  • Lead projects involving artificial intelligence (AI), automation, document automation (e.g., Contract Express), and other emerging legal technologies.
  • Translate legal and business requirements into actionable specifications, acting as a liaison between attorneys and information services teams to implement technology and process improvements.
  • Identify use cases for existing firm technologies and develop business cases for new tools that support legal practice innovation and operational efficiency.
  • Manage technology implementation projects using agile methodologies, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with firm objectives.
  • Evaluate and recommend new legal technology tools, while developing deep subject matter expertise in technologies relevant to legal practice.
  • Engage with and educate attorneys on emerging technologies through presentations, firm events, and consultations to foster adoption and gather feedback.
  • Build strong relationships across practice groups, administrative teams, and with clients to support collaborative innovation initiatives.
  • Requires a Juris Doctorate (JD) and 3-5 years of progressively responsible work experience, preferably within a law firm, with a background in innovation or technology.
  • Candidates should possess strong communication skills to articulate technical concepts to non-technical audiences, alongside proficiency in Microsoft Office, legal research systems, and visual collaboration tools (e.g., Lucid, Miro).
  • The annual salary range is $145,000-$175,000 for Ohio, Georgia, Texas, Florida, and Colorado, and $155,000-$195,000 for California, Pennsylvania, Illinois, Washington D.C., and Washington.
