The role leads and manages all aspects of complex product liability, toxic tort, and mass tort settlements from initial negotiations through final claim resolution and program closure, specifically large-scale settlements involving thousands of claimants.
Key responsibilities include leading and supporting settlement negotiations in product liability, mass tort, toxic tort, and consumer product litigation matters, developing settlement structures and eligibility criteria, and serving as the primary legal and operations lead for settlement execution.
The position involves working directly with plaintiffs’ counsel to negotiate, draft, review, and finalize settlement-related documents, and to resolve claimant disputes or appeals.
Further duties include managing teams of nurse paralegals and other attorneys for claim qualification and categorization, performing data analysis across claims (monitoring values, identifying trends), and overseeing all aspects of settlement implementation and claims administration.
The practice focuses on mass torts in the drug, medical device, and/or consumer products area(s), with a preference for claims resolution experience in pharmaceutical products, medical devices, or consumer health/facing products.
Familiarity with matter management systems (e.g., Case Manager Pro), claims administration platforms, and AI-enabled claim review platforms is preferred.
The ideal candidate will be highly motivated to be part of an active settlement practice, demonstrate initiative, and assume responsibility for client matters as part of a large, collaborative team.
