The Business & Commercial Disputes team advises a sophisticated national and international client base on complex, high-stakes litigation across a range of industries, including financial services, telecommunications, media, real estate, and healthcare sectors.
This role offers direct responsibility on lean case teams, providing opportunities to build courtroom, client-facing, and case management experience.
Core responsibilities include handling substantive work on complex commercial litigation matters in state and federal courts from inception through resolution.
Key tasks involve drafting dispositive and non-dispositive motions (including motions to dismiss, summary judgment briefs, and evidentiary motions), preparing for and conducting depositions (fact and expert witnesses), managing discovery (including e-discovery coordination), and supporting trial preparation and teams.
The associate will analyze dispute risks, litigation exposure, and business implications to contribute to practical, business-oriented client advice, and will communicate directly with clients (in-house counsel and business stakeholders) under guidance.
Required experience spans a broad range of commercial disputes, such as contract disputes, business torts, partnership/shareholder disputes, and fiduciary duty claims.
Experience in restructuring, insolvency, and bankruptcy litigation is a plus.
