Overview

The role is within a patent counseling, prosecution, and litigation practice.
Core responsibilities include conducting prior art database searches for patentability and freedom to operate, analyzing technical papers, drafting patent applications and responses to office actions, and advising attorneys on technology for depositions.
You will need strong technical, written, and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex technologies such as machine learning in plain terms.
A degree in computer engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, or a related technical field is required.
Industry experience is expected, along with broad scientific knowledge in computer science or electrical engineering, specifically a strong understanding of how hardware and software interact.
Expertise in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning is strongly preferred.
You must be eligible to sit for the USPTO registration exam and meet all requirements for patent agent registration.
The expected annual pay range for this position is $125,000 - $228,000, with the final offer amount dependent on geographic location, experience, and skillset.
Law school tuition assistance is available for patent agent candidates.
You will receive 4 weeks of vacation time, 2 weeks of sick time, and 10 paid holidays annually.
