Overview

  • This is a Patent Agent role within a patent counseling and prosecution practice.
  • Core duties include conducting prior art searches (patentability and freedom-to-operate), analyzing patent and scientific documents, and drafting patent applications and responses to office actions.
  • Candidates must hold a degree in material, chemical, mechanical, or biomedical engineering, or a related field; an advanced degree is a plus.
  • Substantive industry experience is required, with broad scientific knowledge spanning chemical engineering, material science, mechanical engineering, and/or biomedical engineering.
  • Applicants must be a registered US Patent Agent or eligible to sit for the USPTO registration exam.
  • Strong technical, written, and verbal communication skills in English are essential.
  • The annual pay range is $125,000 - $228,000, with the final offer dependent on geographic location, experience, and skillset.
  • Law school tuition assistance is available for patent agent candidates.
  • Benefits include medical, dental, vision, health savings account (HSA), flexible spending accounts (FSA), pre-tax commuter benefits, firm-paid life insurance, AD&D, and long-term disability.
