Overview

  • Opportunity in Cooley LLP's Technology Transactions Group, based in Palo Alto or New York.
  • Seeking candidates with 3-5 years of experience in technology transactions, with an emphasis on high technology commercial transactions and intellectual property licensing.
  • Substantive experience drafting and negotiating complex licensing arrangements, including those involving artificial intelligence counseling and deployments, software and content licensing, partnering, distribution, application and cloud hosting services, intellectual property development, and technology transfer.
  • May include advising on transactional privacy issues, compliance, and regulatory matters, particularly concerning the emerging regulatory environment for artificial intelligence systems.
  • This role does not involve intellectual property litigation or the prosecution/registration of intellectual property.
  • Requires ability to learn quickly, provide commercially-minded and pragmatic counsel, and manage multiple projects independently and as part of a team.
  • Essential skills include strong analytical abilities, creative problem-solving in a transactional context, and thoughtful drafting of customized agreements.
  • Desire to stay abreast of legal developments and actively contribute to practice group training is expected.
  • Expected annual pay range is $260,000-$365,000, with the final offer dependent on geographic location, experience, and skillset.
  • Comprehensive benefits package includes medical, dental, vision, various spending accounts, commuter benefits, life insurance, disability coverage, backup care, and parental support, along with 4 weeks vacation, 2 weeks sick time, and 10 paid holidays annually.
