Overview

  • Primarily responsible for performing conflicts analysis related to lateral attorney hires.
  • Manage the full lateral conflicts clearance process, including independent analysis, resolution of potential conflicts, drafting waiver request letters, and ensuring appropriate notifications to government agencies and courts.
  • Implement and maintain ethical information walls using IntApp WallBuilder, which includes drafting memoranda, reviewing new matters, and resolving identified violations.
  • Assist the General Counsel's Office with engagement letter compliance, reviewing outside counsel guidelines, client questionnaires, and other legal ethics and compliance initiatives.
  • This role is part of the Office of General Counsel, with frequent direct interaction with the Associate General Counsel and Senior Conflicts Attorney.
  • Requires availability outside normal business hours, including evenings and weekends, for on-call coverage.
  • This is an internal, non-client-facing position and is not on a partnership track.
  • Must possess a strong working knowledge of the Rules of Professional Responsibility concerning conflicts, excellent oral and written communication skills, strong organizational abilities, keen attention to detail, and analytical skills.
  • Requires a law degree from an accredited school, active New York Bar admission in good standing, and a minimum of two years of experience in a large law firm.
  • Prior experience in conflicts clearance within a large law firm is preferred.
  • The expected base salary for this position is $175,000.00.
