Overview

  • Conflicts Staff Attorney role with Davis Wright Tremaine, an AmLaw 100 firm.
  • Position can be fully remote, but requires being within reasonable commuting distance of the New York City or Washington D.C. offices.
  • Core responsibility is performing conflict-of-interest analysis for potential client engagements and existing matters, ensuring compliance with firm risk management procedures.
  • Daily tasks include analyzing conflicts database searches, assisting attorneys in clearing potential conflicts, and drafting waivers in accordance with professional conduct rules.
  • Further duties involve participating in training for attorneys and staff on conflict screening processes, updating training materials, and supporting risk management initiatives and special projects.
  • Candidates must possess a Juris Doctor (JD) degree.
  • A minimum of 3 years of attorney experience conducting conflict analysis, preferably in a large law firm environment, is highly desirable, along with demonstrated knowledge of conflict-of-interest rules under the Rules of Professional Conduct.
  • Essential skills include strong analytical, organizational, and communication abilities (verbal and written), the capacity to build relationships with attorneys, and responsive customer service skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office is required; familiarity with Intapp Open or related products is preferred.
  • The annualized salary range for this position in New York City is $153,000 to $173,000.
  • The annualized salary range for this position in Washington D.C. is $133,000 to $157,000. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience and other job-related factors.
  • Benefits include health, vision, and dental insurance plans, a 401(k) retirement plan, 2 paid volunteer days, tuition reimbursement, commuter benefits, paid sabbatical after 13 years, and fertility and adoption benefits.
