Overview

The role is an Associate Managing Director for Dentons US LLP, based in their Washington, DC office, within the Regulatory, Public Policy and Government Affairs Practice.
This position requires 2-5 years of experience in regulatory, public policy, or government affairs, with a specific background in natural resources and water policy issues.
Core responsibilities include supporting the Federal Public Policy team on natural resources and water policy, tracking legislative and regulatory developments, and advising on related strategy.
The role involves engaging with federal agencies and congressional staff, attending hearings, conducting research, and drafting client materials.
You will also support client pitches, strengthen client relationships in political and government affairs, and assist with general public policy and business development efforts.
Candidates must demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills, the ability to effectively convey practical ideas, and strong organizational skills to manage complex, detail-oriented assignments.
A focus on client service, confidence, diplomacy, and an embrace of teamwork and bipartisanship are essential attributes.
A bachelor’s degree in political science, economics, or a related field is preferred; an advanced degree is considered a plus.
Prior experience working for a California congressional office or other California ties are preferred.
The salary range for this position is $100,000-$125,000, based on experience, pursuant to District of Columbia law.
