Overview

  • Associate position within the Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation group.
  • This role is based in the firm's Chicago office.
  • Practice focuses on advising clients on executive compensation and employee benefits law, including equity plans and agreements, executive retention packages, retirement and welfare plans, and compensation arrangements in mergers and acquisitions, with an emphasis on private equity transactions.
  • Key responsibilities include conducting legal research and analysis, drafting legal documents (memos, contracts, and correspondence), assisting with and managing complex transactions from inception to resolution, providing client support and advice, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Requires a Juris Doctor (JD) degree and active admission to the Illinois Bar.
  • Candidates must have a minimum of 3 years of corporate experience. AmLaw 100 firm experience is preferred.
  • Desired skills include strong written and verbal communication, research, analytical, problem-solving, attention to detail, business judgment, organizational skills, and the ability to work both collaboratively and independently.
  • The annual salary range for this position is $260,000 - $390,000, dependent on experience and geographic market location. A comprehensive benefits package is offered, including medical, dental, vision insurance, and 401(k).
  • This is a hybrid work arrangement, requiring regular in-office presence with some flexibility for work-from-home.
