Overview

Lead the firm's pro bono practice for nonprofit, tax-exempt organizations, with a primary focus on 501(c)(3) matters.
Manage the full lifecycle of nonprofit pro bono matters, including client screening, onboarding, risk management, and matter oversight.
Provide substantive legal guidance, mentorship, and training to business law attorneys working on nonprofit pro bono cases.
Dedicate approximately 70% of time to guiding and supporting other attorneys (including business development) and 30% to direct client service for complex matters.
Deliver hands-on legal support for intricate nonprofit and tax-exempt matters requiring specialized expertise.
Develop new pro bono opportunities for tax-exempt organizations through business development activities and enhance knowledge management resources.
Report substantively to the Tax Exempt Organizations (TEO) subgroup within the Business Law Department, working in close partnership with the firm's Pro Bono team.
Requires a minimum of six (6) years of experience representing nonprofit, tax-exempt clients; law firm experience is a plus.
Must possess a JD, be admitted and in good standing in your state of practice, and demonstrate deep expertise in tax-exempt organization law.
Proven ability to teach and mentor less experienced attorneys is essential.
Target salary range of $200,000 - $250,000.
This office-based role includes periodic travel to other firm offices and industry conferences.
