Overview

  • Lead and expand the firm's pro bono practice for nonprofit, tax-exempt organizations.
  • Provide direct legal support for complex 501(c)(3) pro bono matters, including client intake, matter management, and risk oversight.
  • Dedicate approximately 70% of time to engaging, mentoring, and overseeing general business law attorneys on nonprofit pro bono matters.
  • Develop and deliver training programs on nonprofit law, entity formation, and corporate governance.
  • Serve as a primary resource for attorneys on pro bono client management, legal ethics, and substantive nonprofit law.
  • Cultivate relationships with legal service organizations and external partners to develop new pro bono opportunities.
  • Collaborate on enhancing knowledge management resources for tax-exempt organization pro bono practice.
  • Minimum 6 years of experience representing nonprofit, tax-exempt clients, with deep expertise in 501(c)(3) law.
  • Proven ability to supervise, train, and mentor less experienced attorneys.
  • Admitted and in good standing in the state of practice.
  • Exceptional communication, organizational, and strategic thinking skills, with sound judgment.
  • Reports to the Tax Exempt Organizations subgroup for substantive legal guidance, working closely with the Pro Bono team.
  • Target annual salary range: $200,000 - $250,000, plus periodic travel required to other firm offices and industry conferences.
