Overview

Draft patent applications, including detailed specifications and claims, in coordination with inventors and in-house counsel.
Conduct comprehensive prior art searches, freedom-to-operate (FTO) analyses, and assess inventions for patentability and potential infringement risks.
Support IP due diligence efforts for mergers, acquisitions, investments, and licensing transactions.
Perform IP landscape and competitive intelligence analyses to inform client R&D and business planning.
Advise clients on patent portfolio development, management, and global prosecution strategies, including preparing responses to office actions.
Candidates must have strong academic credentials and demonstrated technical writing and communication skills.
Familiarity with US and international patent law principles, particularly in the life sciences and biotech domains, is required.
Eligibility to sit for the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) registration examination is required; active USPTO registration is strongly preferred.
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or Electrical Engineering is preferred.
Prior law firm or in-house IP experience, specifically involving patent preparation and prosecution, is preferred.
The target salary range for this position is $145,000 - $155,000.
