Overview

Associate position available within the Strategic Transactions and Licensing group (the "Tech Group").
Candidates can elect to sit in Austin, Los Angeles, Silicon Valley, San Francisco, or Ann Arbor. The West Coast offices operate as a single practice; Ann Arbor may require initial relocation.
Core responsibilities include drafting and negotiating licensing, partnering, and commercial agreements.
Provide direct client counseling on intellectual property, privacy, and product-related matters.
Manage a diverse range of transactions, from client formation and financings to buy- and sell-side acquisitions.
Work with technology, life sciences, AI, financial services, and consumer products companies, including startups and venture capital clients, with opportunities for early responsibility and direct client contact.
Seeking candidates from JD class years 2020-2023 (or equivalent experience) with prior large law firm experience.
Demonstrated experience is required in at least one of the following areas: commercial contracts drafting/negotiation, venture financing/M&A deal management, or intellectual property litigation/counseling.
Requires superior academic credentials from a top law school and admission to the California or Texas State Bar. Enthusiasm for, and willingness to learn about, emerging technology is essential.
The annual salary range is $235,000 - $310,000, dependent on class year and experience.
