Overview

Conflicts Attorney role responsible for managing the conflict resolution process for new business intake, protecting the firm and its clients from risk.
Key responsibilities include processing new client and matter intake, performing conflicts checks, reviewing reports, and identifying potential conflicts of interest.
Communicate with affected attorneys to resolve identified conflicts and draft necessary engagement, scope, or waiver letters.
Ensure correct processing of new clients and matters, including obtaining due diligence and consulting with Finance or Legal teams as needed.
Erect and maintain ethical walls and other legal screens; monitor changes in ethics rules, opinions, and case law regarding conflicts of interest.
Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school and U.S. bar admission are required.
Requires 5+ years of legal experience, preferably with a large law firm in the area of conflicts of interest or professional responsibility.
Essential skills include strong organizational ability to manage heavy workloads and meet deadlines, excellent communication, critical thinking, research, and database skills. Knowledge of conflicts of interest principles under the Rules of Professional Conduct is necessary.
This position can be based in the global operations center in Tampa, FL, or at any of the firm's offices in Atlanta, Austin, Birmingham, Charlotte, Chattanooga, Dallas, Denver, Fort Lauderdale, Houston, Jacksonville, Miami, Nashville, Orlando, Philadelphia, Portland, Richmond, Seattle, Stamford, Tallahassee, Tysons, Washington, D.C., or West Palm Beach.
Base salary ranges (dependent on qualifications and experience) include: District of Columbia ($163,000 - $245,000/year), Colorado ($136,000 - $204,000/year), and Washington State ($150,000 - $224,000/year), plus bonus opportunities.
