Overview

  • The role involves a comprehensive range of estate administration responsibilities, including assisting attorneys with estate administration, funding post-death irrevocable trusts, preparing documents, managing probate (including drafting pleadings), and filing estate-related tax returns, specifically Estate Tax Returns and Fiduciary Income Tax Returns.
  • Key financial tasks include maintaining financial records for trusts, performing trust accounting and audits, managing G/L accounts, reconciling broker statements, preparing payables and bank deposits, and obtaining/reconciling 1099 and K-1 statements.
  • The position requires close personal contact with clients and financial advisors, significant client case management experience, and the ability to independently organize and manage files, with an expectation of performing effectively with minimal supervision.
  • An annual billable hour requirement of 1600 hours applies.
  • Experience in complex estate and trust administration, as well as estate and fiduciary tax matters, is central to the role.
  • Required technical skills include familiarity with tax and trust accounting software and experience with document database programs; familiarity with adopting and implementing legal AI is preferred.
  • A two-year degree is required, with a Bachelor

TBDs degree or Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved program preferred; significant, substantive related experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
