Key traditional labor relations duties encompass handling unfair labor practice charges at the NLRB, representing management in NLRB elections, advising on union organizing, corporate campaigns, and neutrality agreements, negotiating and advising on collective bargaining agreements, managing grievance and arbitration proceedings, and obtaining mass picketing injunctions.
Advice and counsel work includes advising employers on federal and California wage and hour issues, leave management, and disability accommodation, reviewing handbooks, policies, forms, and compensation/commission/bonus plans for compliance, and conducting management training on labor relations and workplace issues.
The role may occasionally involve due diligence of employer operations for workplace law issues related to acquisitions and mergers.
Preferred qualifications include prior traditional labor experience, federal and/or California advice and counsel work, an understanding of current agency enforcement techniques, and bilingual fluency in English and Spanish.
Regular business travel may be required for this position.
