Serve as an IP Patent Prosecution Associate specializing in biological sciences.
Manage and strategically counsel on patent portfolios for life sciences clients, ranging from early-stage startups to global pharmaceutical companies.
Work with cutting-edge technologies including gene editing, cell and gene therapies, antibody and peptide therapeutics, and molecular diagnostics.
Core responsibilities include drafting and prosecuting U.S. and international patent applications in biotechnology and related disciplines.
Conduct freedom-to-operate, validity, and patentability analyses, and assist with IP due diligence.
Requires a Ph.D. in biological sciences (e.g., molecular biology, genetics, biochemistry, immunology); an M.S. with several years of industry research experience may also be considered.
Must be registered to practice before the USPTO and admitted to a state bar, both in good standing.
Possess a strong background in biotechnology or biopharmaceutical sciences, with demonstrated expertise in areas like gene editing, antibodies, and cell and gene therapies.
Minimum one year of prior patent prosecution experience in biotechnology (law firm or in-house) is strongly preferred.
Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to translate complex scientific concepts into clear legal documents.
This is an on-site position, not remote or hybrid.
The expected salary range is $225,000 - $495,000, depending on qualifications and location (Boston, CA, NYC).
