Overview

  • The role is for an Associate within the Debt Finance practice group at Kirkland & Ellis LLP in New York, NY.
  • You will advise clients on a broad range of corporate debt finance transactions.
  • A Juris Doctor (JD) or LL.M. degree (or foreign equivalent) is required.
  • Admission to the New York state bar is mandatory.
  • Requires four years of experience as an Associate or Trainee Lawyer in a law firm's finance or debt finance practice group.
  • Essential experience includes structured financing and securitization transactions.
  • You will draft and review legal documents (e.g., contracts, credit agreements, asset purchase agreements, resolutions, opinions, closing deliverables) and advise clients on financing strategies and transaction structuring.
  • Responsibilities include leading client representation on debt finance transactions such as regular-way financings, leveraged buy-outs (LBOs), liability management, debt restructurings, and credit agreements.
  • You will advise clients on capital markets regulations, securitization, and asset finance matters related to financing transactions, and lead negotiations with counterparties.
  • The hiring salary for this position is $390,000, and a robust offering of benefits is provided.
