Overview

  • The Environment, Land & Resources Practice Group advises multinational corporations, project developers, investors, and lenders globally on diverse environmental matters, including air and water quality, chemical product regulation, contaminated properties, climate change, and energy transition.
  • The practice group leverages its experience, including that of former senior government officials, to assist clients with complex agency rulemakings, infrastructure project approvals, chemical/product approvals, and the resolution of environmental investigations, compliance, enforcement, and litigation.
  • The permitting and entitlement team negotiates with federal, state, and local regulators, consults with American Indian tribes, and manages complex stakeholder relationships for conventional and renewable energy projects and various infrastructure siting issues.
  • For transactional clients, the group collaborates with corporate, finance, and tax colleagues to structure transactions by assessing environmental risks, drawing on experience with contaminated sites, permitting, approvals, occupational safety and health, and process safety.
  • The practice group advises on complex energy transition matters and transactions, such as carbon capture and sequestration, low carbon fuel, and carbon credit transactions, with recent projects spanning the United States, Brazil, Colombia, Cote d’Ivoire, Philippines, and Saudi Arabia.
  • The associate will support attorneys working in environmental issues for commercial transactions, contaminated properties and litigation, and energy transition matters including climate change and carbon credit transactions.
  • Proficiency in Spanish or French and prior policy, business, legal, or government experience in the environment, energy, or climate sectors are not required but are considered beneficial.

Working with Evan was great! He is responsive, in tune with the market and straightforward, all while being patient and empathetic to the many considerations and stressors of making a lateral move. I am grateful for his assistance and would not have found the opportunities that I did without his help.
