The practice group's work significantly focuses on developing creative and value-maximizing strategies in complex, often contentious, restructuring and insolvency matters with multi-layered capital structures, including some of the largest restructurings in the past decade.
The practice group emphasizes cross-collaboration with market-leading practices such as tax, M&A, private equity, capital markets, employment and benefits, and debt finance groups, as well as industry teams, to deliver client solutions.
The practice group's experience spans financial and operational restructurings, often with a cross-jurisdictional dynamic, handling both in-court and out-of-court solutions. This includes creditor compromise, security enforcements, debt rescheduling, liability management transactions, exchange/tender offers, refinancings, new money/distressed financings, debt-to-equity swaps, equity capital raises, and strategic/distressed M&A transactions.
The practice group also works closely with companies and their boards on corporate governance in stressed or distressed situations to identify/manage risk, minimize fiduciary liability, and navigate stakeholder negotiations.
