Manatt’s Entertainment team is a multidisciplinary practice advising companies, financiers, investors, creators, talent, brands, and entrepreneurs across entertainment and media.
The role involves drafting, negotiating, and managing sophisticated entertainment, intellectual property, finance, and corporate agreements.
Associates will support a range of transactions, including financing, investment, M&A, production, licensing, distribution, and commercial deals.
Work includes advising clients across film, television, digital media, gaming, immersive and live entertainment, technology, and emerging entertainment businesses.
Representative areas of exposure include film and television financing, production, distribution, and co-productions; corporate structuring, M&A, joint ventures, and strategic investments; talent, executive, producer, and creator-side transactions; digital media, creator economy, gaming, and interactive entertainment; and intellectual property acquisition, licensing, merchandising, commercialization, and brand partnerships.
The practice advises independent studios, production companies, financiers, investors, and emerging entertainment businesses.
Prior experience at a large law firm, in-house, or in another entertainment industry role is valued; experience with guilds or guild-related matters is a plus.
Associates are expected to contribute to business development efforts and cultivate their own book of business over time.
While offering flexibility, much of the mentoring, professional development, and teamwork for the role takes place through regular collaboration in the Los Angeles office.
