Overview

This is an Entry-Level Paralegal position within the Appellate group, available in San Francisco or Washington, D.C.
You will support the firm's national appellate practice in the Supreme Court, federal courts of appeals, and state appellate courts.
Core responsibilities include cite-checking, drafting, and filing briefs, appendices, procedural motions, and other legal documents with various appellate courts.
You will conduct factual research for ongoing appeals and maintain administrative information, court rules, and details on open appeals and related documents.
Opportunities exist to assist with pro bono matters and prepare business development materials.
A Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum 3.5 GPA is required.
Key skills needed include strong critical thinking, writing, and communication abilities, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat.
The role requires efficiency, ability to meet deadlines under direct supervision, high accuracy, the capacity to manage multiple projects concurrently, and flexibility to work overtime as needed.
The salary range for the San Francisco location is $46,000 to $63,000.
The salary range for the Washington, D.C. location is $43,000 to $60,000.
Additional compensation may include a discretionary bonus, overtime, health/welfare benefits, retirement contributions, paid holidays, and PTO.
