Farhad Tahir joined Akin, Gump, Strauss, Hauer & Feld, LLP's Houston office in the Energy group.

Ed is a great recruiter who goes beyond what I expected him to do. I had a great experience ever since my first call with him where he meticulously went through different points to understand what it is that I want out of my career, and also taking time to explain what the market is like and who to target. After that he was on top of everything, from follow-ups to scheduling and became a great resource to help bounce ideas off of when it came time to make my decision. Highly recommend anyone to reach out to Ed if they are in the lateral market.

    Why talk to Dale Durham?

Ellen Campbell joined Vinson & Elkins LLP's Los Angeles office in the Energy group.

Dale was a thoughtful and diligent recruiter. He listened to what I wanted and worked hard to find me the opportunities I was interested in, even when it was a tough sell on the other side. This was markedly different from other recruiters I had worked with who seemed more interested in selling me on the opportunities they needed to fill when it became clear that it was going to be hard to help me fulfill my goals. He successfully helped me switch markets and practice areas and lateral to a dream position after having taken a year and a half off biglaw to go public interest. This was a real challenge and I could not have managed it without him. Cannot recommend him highly enough!

Why talk to Andrew J. Merson?

Jordan Armstrong joined Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP's Houston office in the Energy group.

Andrew provided a bespoke experience in helping me lateral to a new workplace. I was under no pressure to leave my current employer and, as such, I told Andrew that I was only interested in moving to a firm that could provide a laundry list of requirements - including a move to a smaller, popular, insular market. Andrew was honest with me and immediately returned the only option that had potential to provide what I was looking for. We worked together to contact that firm, putting my best foot forward, and it turned out to be an opportunity so good that I was compelled to jump. Andrew led from the front during the entire process, informing me of the necessary steps without wasting my time or attempting to divert me to other opportunities that may have been more of a sure thing for him. The experience was excellent and after hearing a variety of horror stories, I am thankful that I contacted Andrew. I have already recommended Andrew to a few folks in my network and will not hesitate to do so again.

Working with Bryson was a seamless process. After our first meeting he sent me a personalized spreadsheet of open positions that matched my interests, and sending regular updates for new openings. As we prepped for interviews, Bryson went above and beyond to provide me with information for each person I would be meeting with in one consolidated email. He highlighted important information that he thought would be most interesting and relevant to me for my meetings. He also summarized the firms' statistics, with a welcome emphasis on diversity statistics. Bryson has spent hours compiling statistics on the top law firms' diversity numbers, and this knowledge shows! Bryson handled all of the communications with firms for me, and was quick at scheduling interviews, and keeping all the firms I was interviewing with aware of my other options. I believe this helped me receive multiple offers in a short time frame. When I was weighing these options, Bryson reached out to his network of peers and friends for additional information on lifestyle and culture. All in all, Bryson goes the extra mile in his role as recruiter. I felt confident that he was preparing me to the highest degree for my interviews and callbacks. I would not hesitate to recommend him. Thank you Bryson!

Susan is 100% invested in her candidates, and it shows. She coached me through each step, from perfecting my resume to rigorously preparing me for every single interview. Susan's dedication to her candidates goes above and beyond professional guidance and mentorship—she always made time for me, no matter how seemingly minor my question might have been, and she remained engaged and accessible throughout the process. Thanks to Susan, I am in the perfect role. I am grateful that Susan was my recruiter and legal placement consultant, and I am even more fortunate to call her my mentor and friend. Even after an offer came in, Rebecca was still "fighting" for me every step of the way, making sure my benefits and bonus would be commensurate with my expectations, and following up with the firm on conflicts, etcetera. Rebecca is so personable and kind, and I really felt like she made the whole experience so personalized to me and my resume/situation, which speaks volumes. Seriously can't recommend her enough!

Susan’s knowledge of the legal market knows no limits, and she has expertise that can only be acquired from years of being at the top of her field. Moreover, Susan is an absolute delight to work with, and her positivity and enthusiasm make the process enjoyable! From my first phone call with Susan, it was clear that she is in a class all her own. Susan took the time to discuss my background, listen to my priorities and career goals, and get to know me as a person. I am a regulatory health attorney, and my practice area is very specific. Vijay proved more than capable of ensuring that the opportunities I considered provided meaningful programming and mentorship for diverse attorneys. During our meetings, Vijay showcased a keen and strategic approach to the lateral hiring process. Vijay works diligently to ensure that his clients lead with their very best.
