    Kate Reder Sheikh

    Legal Recruiter

Why talk to Kate Reder Sheikh?

Perry Li joined Perkins Coie's San Diego office in the Corporate group.

I loved working with Kate during my lateral search, and I unequivocally recommend Kate to any associate who wants to land in California (especially the Bay Area). My lateral move was a complex one (practice group switch; multiple potential geographic markets; sub-optimal timing for a junior-level move; my indecision). Kate worked tirelessly with me and for me every step of the way. When I did not know which positions to apply, she shared with me her deep knowledge on the history, work, clients, partners, culture, and practice group/business prospect behind each otherwise Spartan job listing. When I applied to the positions, Kate, an experienced litigator, advocated zealously for me so I punched above my weight and landed interviews with firms that I initially thought was out of my league. When I expanded my search to multiple geographic areas, Kate mobilized her great colleagues at MLA to assist me. When I dithered and contemplated about an internal move, she helped me craft strategies and gave me valuable advice to help me stay even though my staying would be against her economic interest. Above all, she understood and empathized with the stress of conducting a lateral search while holding down a high-pressure, demanding job. I am thrilled with my eventual move and felt so fortunate to have a great counselor and advocate like Kate during the process. I know Kate strongly values an exclusive relationship with her lateral candidates; she informed me such when I felt comfortable enough to tell her about my desire to start a search, and I know that it may seem daunting. Please know that like any outstanding attorney, Kate will work tirelessly to earn her clients’ trust; she certainly earned mine, as I have referred to her multiple friends for general career advice or lateral moves. Best of luck on your search!

I strongly recommend hiring Zsaleh as a recruiter. Zsaleh reached out to me awhile back while I was clerking, and while I didn’t have a need for a recruiter at the time, Zsaleh generously took the time to explain to me how the recruiting process works. Left with a good impression, I contacted Zsaleh years later when I did need a recruiter, and she helped me land my top choice in a new city. Zsaleh is attentive, diligent, and a pleasure to work with. 10/10 recommend!
