This is a Mid-level Associate position in the New York office, within the Private Client & Family Office practice group.
Advise ultra-high-net-worth individuals, multigenerational families, and family offices on sophisticated domestic and international estate, gift, and income tax planning.
Draft and implement complex estate planning structures, including grantor and non-grantor trusts, Irrevocable Life Insurance Trusts (ILITs), Grantor Retained Annuity Trusts (GRATs), and charitable trusts.
Structure wealth transfer strategies, succession planning, and family governance. Provide counsel on individual and fiduciary income tax matters, including for closely held businesses and investment structures.
Serve as "outside general counsel" for family offices, coordinating legal advice across multiple disciplines (e.g., tax, corporate, real estate, litigation). Support trust and estate administration.
Requires significant experience in trusts & estates, private client, or tax law, with an interest in developing holistic expertise for family offices.
Core skills include strong interpersonal, oral and written communication, analytical, time management, and superior judgment. Proficiency in Excel and comfort with numbers are also required.
Minimum qualifications: Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school with excellent academic credentials, and active New York Bar admission.
Previous or current employment with an Am Law 100 firm is preferred.
The compensation range for this role is $310,000 - $390,000.
