Overview

  • This is a lateral Associate position within the Employment, Executive Compensation, and Benefits practice group, focusing on executive compensation and employee benefits matters.
  • The role requires 2-6 years of legal experience, preferably from a law firm, with a proven track record in transactional executive compensation and employee benefits.
  • Positions are available in U.S. offices located in Boston, Chicago, New York, or San Francisco.
  • You will provide legal expertise on executive compensation and employee benefits aspects of corporate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, IPOs, and asset sales for private equity and public companies.
  • Responsibilities include advising companies, investors, and executives on executive compensation and benefits issues, and assisting in the design, implementation, and administration of related plans and programs.
  • You will draft and review employment agreements, other compensation-related documents, executive employment contracts, and severance agreements.
  • The role involves advising clients on compliance with federal and state laws, including ERISA, tax laws, and securities regulations, and conducting legal research and analysis.
  • You will collaborate with other practice groups, such as tax and corporate, to ensure comprehensive client representation.
  • Required qualifications include a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school with strong academic standing, and admission to practice law in the state of employment or eligibility for prompt admission.
  • Essential skills include strong knowledge of relevant laws and regulations, attention to detail, sharp analytical skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Practical experience with legal AI tools is preferred.
