Overview

Appellate Attorney (Counsel or Senior Counsel) position within the Labor & Employment Department.
Opportunity located in one of Seyfarth's California offices: Sacramento, San Francisco, or Los Angeles (Century City or Downtown).
Requires 10-15 years of significant litigation experience, with substantial prior experience in the appellate process.
Core responsibilities include providing strategic appellate guidance during pre-trial and trial proceedings, optimizing trial records for appeal, and drafting jury instructions, verdict forms, and complex trial briefings.
Key tasks involve preparing and conducting oral arguments and drafting briefs for appeals in state and federal courts, as well as handling interlocutory appeals.
Candidates must possess strong research, analytical, and brief writing abilities, with the capacity for complex, detail-oriented legal work.
Must be licensed and admitted to practice law in the State of California.
The salary range for this role is $255,000 to $340,000, with eligibility for annual merit increases and bonus pay.
