Associate position with Squire Patton Boggs (US) LLP, joining the Insurance team within the Global Financial Services Practice Group.
The role can be based in any of the firm's U.S. offices.
Focuses on insurance regulatory and compliance matters for global/national insurance companies, private equity sponsors, and healthcare systems.
Responsibilities include advising on insurance regulatory filings, approvals, holding company compliance, and insurer formation/licensure.
Work involves structuring mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and other strategic transactions for insurance companies and related businesses.
Counsels clients on compliance program development, internal controls, risk mitigation, day-to-day regulatory compliance, and regulatory interactions (e.g., inquiries, examinations, administrative proceedings).
Requires 3-5 years of relevant experience, with a JD from an accredited law school and a strong academic record.
Must be admitted to the State Bar in the primary U.S. office where the associate will be located.
Candidates need a working knowledge of state and federal insurance laws, rules, and regulations.
Strong technical drafting skills are required, including experience with complex commercial transactions, agreements, opinion letters, and regulatory filings.
Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage complex matters with minimal supervision, and possess excellent communication and client relationship skills.
Experience interacting with insurance regulatory agencies or working directly for insurance companies is beneficial.
The salary range for this position is $230,000 - $250,000 per year.
This position operates under a hybrid work model.
