The Real Estate & Construction team comprises over 60 attorneys who counsel real estate owners, developers, contractors, investors, lenders, architects, engineers, and suppliers.
The team assists clients with land use, design, acquisition, disposition, development, financing, risk allocation, insurance assessment, construction, leasing, and sale of commercial, residential, and agricultural properties.
The role requires litigation experience at an AmLaw 200 firm, regional litigation boutique, or equivalent, specifically in construction, design professional liability, surety, or related infrastructure disputes.
Responsibilities include managing discovery, taking and defending depositions, and drafting complex motions independently or with limited supervision.
Prior trial, arbitration, or hearing experience is strongly preferred.
The position requires exceptional written and oral advocacy skills, particularly in translating complex technical and contractual issues into persuasive legal arguments, and the demonstrated ability to supervise junior team members.
Familiarity with the construction industry is helpful but not necessary; excellent litigation experience with an interest in construction is paramount.
The billable hours expectation is 1,800 hours (inclusive of up to 50 pro bono hours), with an "all-in" hours expectation of 2,050 or 2,150, depending on seniority, which includes investment activities such as business development, professional development, and mentoring.
To be eligible for a bonus, associates must reach or exceed 1,850 billable hours (inclusive of up to 50 pro bono hours) and meet or exceed the all-in hours expectation.
