Overview

  • Role: Patent Prosecution Associate with Venable LLP's Patent Prosecution and Counseling group.
  • Experience Level: Junior to Mid-level, seeking 1-3 years of patent prosecution experience (USPTO or law firm setting).
  • Legal Qualifications: Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school, admitted to and in good standing with a relevant bar, and a minimum of two years of legal practice experience.
  • Required Technical Background: Undergraduate and/or graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering.
  • Ideal Technical Background: Candidates with degrees in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science are also considered.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Strong preference for previous experience as a patent examiner and PTO registration. Industry experience is a plus.
  • Key Skills: Excellent academic credentials, strong writing skills, and sharp analytical ability.
  • Locations: Washington, D.C., New York, or Los Angeles.
  • Compensation: Salary range of $215,000 to $355,000, with actual salary dependent on job-related factors including experience, education, skills, and certifications.
