Requires strong experience advising high-net-worth individuals and families on sophisticated estate, gift, and generation-skipping transfer (GST) tax planning matters, including at least two years of independent drafting experience and a strong understanding of advanced wealth transfer strategies (e.g., dynasty trusts, valuation discount planning, sales to intentionally defective grantor trusts, and charitable planning).
Valued experience includes multigenerational wealth planning and the preparation and implementation of complex estate and tax plans. Experience advising family offices, developing tax-efficient wealth transfer strategies, and planning for the preservation and transfer of specialized assets (fine art, intellectual property, closely held businesses, private equity interests) is a plus.
Candidates should also have experience with trust administration and restructuring matters, including advising on fiduciary duties, trust modifications and decantings, and the post-death administration of complex multigenerational trusts, alongside the preparation and review of federal and state estate tax returns.
Prior law firm or accounting firm experience in estate planning is preferred, as is currently pursuing or having completed a related LL.M. degree.
