Overview

  • Attorney position within a global law firm's Chambers-ranked Band 1 Bankruptcy Litigation team.
  • Focus on financial restructuring and insolvency, advising creditors, debtors, and other stakeholders in complex proceedings, including Chapter 11, out-of-court, and cross-border insolvencies.
  • Ideal candidate has 1-3 years of legal experience, with a strong interest in bankruptcy and commercial litigation.
  • Responsibilities include preparing for and participating in trials and depositions, drafting pleadings, motions, and briefs, and conducting legal research under the US Bankruptcy Code.
  • Handle specific bankruptcy matters such as Chapter 11 plan confirmation, automatic stay issues, use of cash collateral, debtor-in-possession financing, and claims disputes (estimation, objections, preference, fraudulent transfer claims).
  • Manage commercial law claims within a bankruptcy context, including breach of contract, business torts, state law preference and fraudulent conveyance, fiduciary duty, and director and officer liability.
  • Support cross-border insolvency matters (e.g., Chapter 15) and analyze financial and business information to inform litigation strategy.
  • Requires excellent academic credentials, strong writing, drafting, and communication skills, organizational ability, and attention to detail.
  • Reports directly to a Partner.
  • Position is eligible for performance bonuses in addition to a standard benefits package (medical, dental, vision, 401k, and leave programs).
