Overview

  • This is a Senior Associate position within the Firm's Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) Practice.
  • Practice areas include leading public and private M&A transactions, divestitures, joint ventures, and other business combinations.
  • Clients served are diverse, encompassing multinational corporations, private equity firms, and banks.
  • Core responsibilities include leading and managing complex transactions, ensuring effective legal strategy and execution.
  • You will draft and negotiate critical transaction documents such as purchase agreements, shareholder agreements, and financing documents.
  • You will advise clients on strategic legal solutions, risk management, transaction structuring, due diligence, and represent them in negotiations (under partner supervision).
  • Responsibilities also involve coaching junior lawyers, contributing to knowledge management, and potentially setting the technical direction for a specialism within the practice.
  • A key aspect of the role is building and maintaining client relationships with the aim of developing your own book of business.
  • Required experience includes at least 8 years of post-qualification practice in M&A, with a demonstrated ability to lead complex legal matters and support partners in client management.
  • The salary range for this exempt role in New York is $420,000 - $500,000, plus performance bonus eligibility.
