Overview

Focus on high-stakes commercial litigation, handling disputes across various industries including contract, class action, business torts, shareholder/partnership, antitrust, and intellectual property matters.
Manage all phases of litigation, from pre-litigation counseling and strategic planning through trial, appellate proceedings, and alternative dispute resolution methods like arbitration.
Design and execute litigation strategies, draft legal documents (briefs, memoranda, correspondence), conduct legal research, analyze evidence, and support discovery, trial preparation, and courtroom proceedings.
Advise a diverse client base on complex litigation and regulatory challenges, including privacy, data protection, cybersecurity compliance, emerging technologies, and global regulatory frameworks. This includes leading strategy for disputes involving data protection, defamation, intellectual property, and consumer protection.
Conduct legal risk assessments for new products, business models, and internal policies, particularly concerning Latin American data protection laws, and research global issues affecting social media platforms (e.g., intermediary liability, hate speech).
Supervise and mentor junior associates and legal staff, reviewing their work and fostering professional development, while also independently managing client relationships and reporting case progression to partners.
The annual salary range for this position is $420,000-$450,000, with eligibility for performance bonuses and comprehensive benefits.
Requires a J.D. or LL.M. degree, active admission to the California State Bar, and a minimum of 3 years of professional experience providing legal advice to corporate clients in domestic and international litigation and arbitration.
Must have at least 3 years of experience advising on commercial and business litigation matters in both established and emerging markets, including managing multiple projects and representing clients in U.S. federal and state courts.
Requires 3 years of experience advising major social media and technology clients on international litigation matters, including strategic coordination across jurisdictions, intellectual property, Internet platform liability, privacy, and Artificial Intelligence laws in the U.S. and Latin America (specifically Brazil).
Must have 3 years of experience analyzing legal risks and compliance obligations in foreign jurisdictions, particularly regarding new legislation and regulatory developments in Latin America.
This is a hybrid position, allowing telecommuting up to one day per week, with the remaining time spent in the Los Angeles, CA office.
