Work as a Technology Specialist within the Intellectual Property practice, assisting attorneys across patent prosecution, client counseling, and litigation matters.
Key responsibilities include drafting patent applications, responding to patent office communications, conducting scientific and patent searches, and working directly with inventors.
Assist attorneys in preparing patentability, validity, freedom-to-operate, and infringement opinions.
Support patent litigation efforts by analyzing technical issues, reviewing patent file histories, and examining technical literature.
Required qualifications include a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or a specialized Semiconductor Engineering program.
Industry experience and/or a PhD in semiconductor processing/manufacturing is preferred.
This role is part of a program requiring enrollment in an ABA-accredited evening law school to obtain a law degree in four years; day programs may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Candidates must pass the USPTO patent bar examination to become a registered patent agent. Law school tuition reimbursement is provided.
Opportunity to participate in the firm's summer associate program and progress to an associate position upon graduating law school and passing a state bar exam.
Strong academic credentials or prior work experience, along with excellent written and verbal communication skills, are essential. Prior patent law experience or USPTO registration is not required.
Salary ranges vary based on law school enrollment status: $130,000 (not in law school), $150,000 (1st year law school), $160,000 (2nd year), $170,000 (3rd year), and $215,000 (4th year).
This position operates under a hybrid work model.
