Work with a recruiter who has a real relationship with the hiring team and comes recommended by your peers.

Overview

  • The Trademark and Advertising practice advises cutting-edge clients, including AI and biotech startups and public companies, on vetting, building, enforcing, and defending brands and marketing campaigns.
  • Work involves the full arc of brand protection and advertising matters, including clearing and prosecuting trademarks, handling trademark oppositions, enforcing rights via demand letters, domain disputes, takedowns, and federal litigation, and advising on marketing claims and defending client content.
  • The role involves shaping strategy for global brand building, policing, and defense.
  • Counsel clients on novel issues such as AI-generated voices and likenesses, virtual worlds, and influencer marketing, often involving technology with no clear legal precedent.
  • Candidates should be drawn to boundary-pushing clients, contested matters, and unsettled law, and desire significant ownership of enforcement and dispute work. Required attributes include superior academic credentials, sharp writing, clear speaking, creative and practical thinking, and strong interpersonal skills.

Yan-Xin Li joined WSGR’s San Francisco office in the Intellectual Property group.

My New York-based MLA recruiter connected with me with Kate because I was considering exploring San Francisco as a market. And now here I am in amazing California. My entire interview process was seamless because of Kate. She was always responsive, gave me helpful information, adequately prepared me for interviews and calls, and just an incredible resource for all things technical (e.g., timing and logistics of switching employers and giving notice) and non-technical (e.g., local advice on SF neighborhoods, answering random questions related to a cross-country move). I consider her a colleague and a friend, and I think you'd be in great hands as her client.
