Overview

Tax Controversy Associate position focused on complex tax disputes and litigation.
Represent multinational entities, partnerships, family offices, and high net worth individuals in matters involving international tax, transfer pricing, and cross-border transactions.
Requires 3-5 years of experience from a law firm, large accounting firm, or government (e.g., IRS Chief Counsel, DOJ, Tax Court, or relevant clerkship).
Experience interacting with clients, in-house tax/legal teams, opposing counsel, accounting firms, and taxing authority representatives is preferred.
Core responsibilities include conducting legal research and analysis, drafting legal documents (briefs, motions, correspondence), and assisting with case management (trials, negotiations, settlements).
Must be able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
A background in economics or accounting is helpful but not required.
Requires a JD degree from an accredited law school and admission to practice in the state where officing.
The expected salary range for this position is $260,000-$365,000 per year, dependent on market location, experience, and qualifications.
