Lead knowledge management and innovation initiatives for the Corporate practice, focusing on capturing, structuring, and leveraging legal knowledge, data, and technology. This is a leadership role, not entry-level KM.
Develop and manage the Corporate Section’s knowledge infrastructure, including forms, precedents, checklists, and practice resources, ensuring they reflect current market practice. Establish governance for content creation, review, and accessibility.
Improve the capture and usability of deal and experience data, define data standards, and leverage structured data for precedent discovery, benchmarking, and client insights.
Evaluate, pilot, and support the rollout of practice technologies such as document automation and AI tools. Act as a liaison between attorneys and internal teams (IT, Innovation, vendors) to ensure tools meet practice needs and improve workflows.
Drive adoption of knowledge resources and tools through targeted outreach, practical training sessions, and ongoing support for attorneys.
Identify and standardize key transactional workflows, integrating best practices into templates, checklists, and guidance materials to improve consistency in drafting and deal execution.
Partner closely with practice leadership, attorneys, and cross-functional teams (Innovation, IT, Business Development, Professional Development) to align KM initiatives with firm strategy and provide project leadership.
A Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree is required.
Requires 5+ years of corporate transactional experience (M&A, venture capital, private equity, and/or securities) gained at a law firm or similar professional services environment.
Requires 3+ years of substantive experience in a knowledge management, legal innovation, or practice support role within a law firm or professional services environment.
Key skills include strategic and practical thinking, strong communication, execution orientation, technological fluency (including with AI tools), analytical abilities, and collaboration.
This role requires 60% in-office presence and permits 40% remote work.
The salary range is $225,000-$250,000 in Boston and $240,000-$280,000 in New York, with bonus eligibility and comprehensive benefits.
