  • Requires a Juris Doctor (JD) or LLM and an active bar admission in Massachusetts, New York, California, Florida, or Washington D.C.

Jack was a great recruiter to work with as I navigated re-entering the workforce after some time off.

    Why talk to Susan Belardi?

Jonathan Garvin joined Mintz, Levin, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky and Popeo P.C.'s District of Columbia office in the Compliance/Regulatory group.

If Susan calls – PICK UP! I recently worked with Susan on a move from a boutique firm to an AmLaw100. Immediately upon connecting I realized that Susan is unique among recruiters because she is more than a recruiter—she is a career counselor and coach. Her insights into the interview process, crafting an attention-grabbing resume, and resigning gracefully as well as her connections through DC were uniquely valuable and undoubtedly instrumental in my success. From day one it was always crystal clear that her primary focus was my well-being and best interest. Working with Susan felt like I was her only client (although I knew I wasn’t). She was always available to answer questions and allay any concerns I had throughout the lateral process. Susan is highly detailed, honest and to-the-point, and she knows and is friends with senior-level attorneys and talent acquisition EVERYWHERE in DC. But, most importantly, Susan always took the time to prepare me for success and walk me through each step of the process. As a result, I always knew what to expect and was never caught off guard. Her interview preparation is unparalleled in my experience, not only because no other recruiter I’d ever worked with had provided interview preparation, but also because the techniques and tactics she teaches are universally valuable and effective. If you listen to what she says, you will be a better interviewee and communicator in general. Her ability to anticipate questions and preview the personalities I would encounter in each interview gave me confidence and ensured I was never flustered by a question or interviewer. She helped craft thoughtful, coherent and honest answers through discussions that clarified in my own mind the motivations behind my move. Finally, Susan was always available to reassure me that I was making the right decision for myself and my career. This was especially true when it came time to resign from my old position. While resigning would probably never be easy for me, with Susan’s help it was easier and turned out better than I had expected. In short, if you are considering a move or even just curious about moving, it is worth getting in touch with Susan. She provides tremendously valuable career guidance, effective communication techniques, and will establish a personal relationship with you—going the extra mile to ensure your success and happiness with any move or decision you make. I could not be happier to have worked with Susan and beyond the client relationship would consider her a friend. Anyone fortunate enough to have the opportunity to work with Susan should absolutely take it and I cannot recommend her too highly or thank her enough.
